Hi all! My last post for 2007. So, back in the southern city after a pleasant drive through the South Australian and Victorian outback (!). Was with my dad (see the earlier Elton John entry for a pic) and was trying to tell him how much better the drive (and I) would be if we were in a convertible cruising through the sunny, hot countryside. Dad was having none of it (it’s a waste of money, not sensible, you’ve got a good car (ie. the afore-mentioned chiko roll mobile), etc, etc (whatevs!)). In the end, I gave up trying to convince him – I figure, I’ll just rock up to his house one day when he least suspects it and ask him if wants to take a drive with the top down. He’ll be won over for sure…
Anyway, so back now to my home sweet home and my wife, and man, oh man, it is warm alright. 42 degrees today, which for an Adelaidean like me, is a normal summer day, but for someone who has been living in fair Sydney-town for far too long – roasting! Luckily, my gorgeous flatmate and I are sorted for our summer and inspite of 3a water restrictions, we filled up our fabulous pool and jumped on in. Instructions for use: Pool is best enjoyed after quite a few glasses of cask whoite woine and fun for the whole family – turtles especially love it.

We’ve only had it up for a couple of days, and I think I’ve already spent a good ten hours in it. If I didn’t have my father staying in my room (which overlooks the pool), we might have even had some German boys back for a Saturday midnight (3am?) dip – not as good as Coogee on a Sunday night, but not bad… Bwahhahahahaa!

Hope everyone had a great day on the old JC’s birthday. Mine was eventful, especially after I polished off three bottles of champers by4pm. I did well on the present haul though and luckily I drove the 8 hours home for Christmas because my little bus was full of goodies on the way back…
A big congratulations to the M and the C on the engagement. Excellent news!
Happy Christmas all and looking forward to a rocking New Years. x

Talk in the office is of rumours, how quickly they start and how even quicker they spread.. so, some lessons regarding the office rumours:
1. Deny everything, admit nothing, and make counter false-accusation.
2. If you haven’t heard a rumour about the work Christmas party by lunch time the next day, start one.
3. If you have reason to believe a rumour might start about yourself (usually because you’ve done something dodgy), get in quick and start one about someone else. Aim for someone believable.
4. Re-iterating: Deny, deny, deny.

Am back in Melbourne town now, after a fab sojourn to the harbour city. Thanks to all and it was so, so good to catch up with everyone. A big thank you to Loulou for letting me stay and of course for my hot date. “Hot date?” the rest of you ask…
Well, Miss Loulou rang me the day I arrived in Sydney and asked for a favour.. She said she had been asked out by a gent who had forgotten that he had a friend arriving from England. He asked if he could bring the guy along, and therefore, if LL could find a ring-in as well.. And I happily agreed to be the ring-in. I don’t mind talking to the uglyside-kick so that my friend can get some ackshon. I do it with pleasure as my friend duty.
So, we got ready.. and headed to the arranged meeting place.. and checked out the boys. And man, oh man. The love I was feeling for LL was abounding. A tall, good-looking, well-spoken English doctor. Hello!! Drinks and dinner and more drinks followed and all in all, a farken great night. With a hot dude. Even LL agreed I got the better end of the stick.
High fives Miss L!

Was invited by a very good friend to attend Billy Elliott in Sydney a couple of nights ago.. I didn’t go because I had other arrangements but would have been hob-knobbing with the rich and famous, ie. Sir Elton John (http://perezhilton.com/?p=10519)
But look at this photo.. My dad has been mistaken for Elton before.. hmmm..

Thanks for the offer of the free ticket anyway MT, you rock!!

I’ve recieved a few requests for an update on the most-favoured member of the household (sorry, flatmate-that-I-love)… Well, all, despite having a bad attituude and a death wish at times, Mate, the turtle, is doing well – he cruises around our loungeroom like he owns the joint and occasionally making a bid for freedom out the back door (thus far all have been thwarted, though there have been some close calls) as well as getting right in amongst my flatmate’s smalls when she leaves them hanging low on the clothes’ horse (which begs the question.. does she do this deliberately? I don’t wanna know..).

So, here’s a pic to sate everyone’s curiosity. You can also take note of the empty pots which used to have plants in them until the possums enjoyed one of their bacchinalian feasts at the expense of some rosemary, violets, and others that I can’t remember, but loved for a good few days.

A colleague was reading my blog and sent me this.. they just keep on coming.. apparently this was seen in Melbourne the day after his notorious meeting with the law. For those not in the know, the hottie (that is Ben Cousins) has a nasty-ass tattoo saying “Such is Life” across his rock hard abs (a nod to that other Australian bad-ass, Ned Kelly – wikipedia it if you’re not sure who I’m talking about people… http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ned_Kelly)

Have been back in Sydney for a week now and started it off with a bang with my company’s Christmas party. And what a fab night it was.. The theme was studio 54 which saw some amazing costumes – hot 70s outfits that were completely outrageous and verrrry sexy… my favourite was rollergirl – she stayed in those skates ALL night! Working in IT, I had a large number of the opposite sex coming up to chat to me… or rather, chat me up. And, no, not because I am exceptionally gorgeous.. but because there is a distinct lack of ladeeez in the IT world. So the ratios are all out. Which means that any girl gets a large amount of attention. But, hey, who’s complaining?
Not me. But I did have to laugh when a particular hottie made a bee-line for me on the dance floor and started laying on the charm.. Thickly. I smiled politely and the more I rejected his amorous advances, the more he leaned in closer, until I took it upon myself to lay the facts bare and whisper sweetly into his ear, “um.. just so you know.. I don’t do the whole work thing.” And with that, he was off. Across the dance floor to another pretty young thing, who as it turns out, does do the whole work thing, and actually does it, at a work function, in front of everyone. We were soon all privy to pash-fest 2007.
And when I related this story to friends, their common response was: “Since when don’t you do the whole work thing?”
Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!

So have been having way too much fun up in the harbour city but should put in a mention of my wee sojourn up further north to the Sunshine Coast hinterland to stay with one of my oldest friends and her two screaming kids little angels. I got up there quite late so it was dark and on the first night, I didn’t realise just how beautiful the place she is living is. Her house is set back from the road, there isn’t a neighbour for miles and she was out each day with her two kids… And we all know what that means… topless sunbathing!! Yeeaahh!!
So my boobs are as brown as my beer belly and life is good. No, seriously, it was great to see the little ones, even if their high-pitched screeching got a bit much at times. And QLD is a great place. If the folk up there were any more laidback they’d be walking around doing backbends. I wasn’t sure why Australia’s population of a ex-strippers (with peroxide blonde hair and big fake boobs that make mine look like bee-stings) now all live on the Sunshine Coast (a theory of mine confirmed by my friend who is a nail technician and so does their nails en masse) but think it might have something to do with the perma tans they can get all year round – there are tanning salons on every corner!
But I digress. The point of this was to say a big thank you to the gorgeous glittergirl for having me and for letting me hang out with her gorgeous kids (I don’t know whose they are, because they are both cuties and I know their parents! har, har!!), and most of all for letting me drink beer by her pool topless at 10 am in the morning. You rock!!
